UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £2 million to develop solutions that tackle the environmental crisis of plastic pollution in the world’s oceans.




The Transforming Construction Network Plus is opening its first call for proposals for research that will help transform construction. Two rounds of funding calls will be launched, to distribute £1m of funding. The first call launches on 1 February and KTN will run briefing events in London on 12 February (webcast is available) and in Manchester on 13 February.


Innovative SMEs can apply for a share of £2.5 million to collaborate in research with partners across Europe and associated countries.

A share of up to £2 million is available to run proof of concept projects aimed at how to encourage SMEs to adopt productivity boosting technology or management practices.

UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £3 million to explore and evaluate the commercial potential of a scientific idea to solve a healthcare challenge.

UK organisations can apply for a share of up to £8 million to carry out collaborative R&D, collaborative fast-track and feasibility projects to enhance the UK’s position in civil aerospace.

£20 million of collaborative (match) funding is available for UK-developed late stage R&D, to support growth in advanced low carbon propulsion capability in the automotive sector.

The UK Aerospace Research and Technology Programme provides grant funding to industrial research and capital projects to encourage innovation in UK civil aerospace.

Organisations can apply for a share of £150,000, including VAT, to develop an integrated remote monitoring and screening solution for the care of people in custody.

The Horizon 2020 programme offers UK companies a significant opportunity to access new knowledge, markets, customers and suppliers.
