Launch48 Conference & Weekend - June 4th to 6th

Adil Mohammed
Hello All,

Launch48, a conference and entrepreneurial event, is back and running in London from the 4th to the 6th of June with speakers and mentors from Gumtree, Yahoo, PayPal, VMWare, Google, and many more attending and working closely with attendees.

The Launch48 Conference will cover all topics related to 'The lifetime of a startup' including how to structure, source funding, build a team, develop, scale, take investment, and exit a web or mobile startup.

The Launch48 Weekend is an entrepreneurial event that runs over 48 hours. Attendees can pitch an idea which is voted on and 6 teams are formed around the most popular ideas.  Each team is structured like a business with a mixture of business, marketing, design, development, and management skills.  During the Launch48 Weekend attendees are encouraged to learn new skills, work closely with a diverse range of people, and launch a new web or mobile app with lots of support from a range of highly skilled mentors.

Launch48 has a fantastic group of speakers and mentors attending both events including:

Katy Turner ? Eden Ventures
Reshma Sohoni - Seedcamp
Andy Budd - Clearleft
Hugh Chappell ? Entrepreneur
Desigan Chinniah - Gumtree
Andy Chung - Eden Ventures
Iqbal Gandham ? Addpiks
Christian Heilmann ? Yahoo Developer Network
Anthony Hicks - PayPal
Dragos Ilinca ? UberVu
John Lunn ? PayPal
Alastair Mitchell - Huddle
Julian Ranger - J Rangers Ltd & iBundle
Alexis Richardson ? VMware & RabbitMQ
Jalin Somaiya ? Google
Jerome Touze ? Wayn.com

It is going to be a fantastic event for people wanting to learn how to start a web business and work with a range of talented people.

More information on our website http://london.launch48.com

Tickets are now on sale at http://www.amiando.com/Launch48_London.html and we are offering a 30% discount on both the conference and weekend tickets for a very limited time.

Regards

Adil

I see our own Iqbal is one of the panelists - well done IG - hope to see you there!

Btw, does anyone here know the current status of the ideas/companies that got set up at the previous L48s? Vouchaha comes to mind but not sure where they are? Any others on our list here?

Its hard to believe that ideas can go much further after the initial 48 hours (although a lot can be achieved in that period) but do people stay commited beyond the weekend? Ownership/shareholding problems given that there could be many people on the team at the weekend?

Cheers

Vouchahcha is doing pretty well, the best thing that happened was that the team downsized, and a couple of people really got focused on the idea. It was impossible with 12 people doing it, especially after the 48 hr weekend euphoria wears off. Having said that it all comes down to the people involved, who wants to make it work will, the others will eventually fall by the wayside.

And yes I will be their speaking and mentoring, speaking on Friday and Mentoring on Saturday.
